Invisalign Clear Braces

If you are interested in straightening your teeth, you may be wondering which option is right for you. Because the trays are made of plastic, they are nearly invisible when worn. In fact, you may find that friends and colleagues won’t even notice you are going through treatment! The Invisalign treatment replaces hassle and embarrassment, with comfort and discretion.

Why use Invisalign?

Anderson Dental Invisalign Case

Why should you consider Invisalign over traditional braces?

Invisalign can be used to treat a wide variety of orthodontic problems. It can help correct moderate to severe misalignments, including overbites, underbites, teeth overcrowding, and gaps. In fact, in most cosmetic cases, Invisalign can be just as effective as metal braces in less time. Typically, metal braces are worn for about two years, depending on individual circumstance. With Invisalign, treatment time varies, but you could be finished in just nine months!

While traditional metal braces do have their advantages, we here at Andersen Dental Center, strongly support the use of Invisalign. Invisalign is a form of orthodontic treatment that utilizes plastic aligner trays molded to fit your teeth. As the treatment progresses, so do the trays. Each tray slowly moves your teeth in the right direction. While the difference in trays may be minor, these differences add up to a much bigger change.

The Convenient Choice for Your Lifestyle

Many people agree (ourselves included) that the biggest benefit to Invisalign is the freedom it gives you. You can remove the trays whenever you like. You will have the freedom to eat and drink what you want. This means no worrying about food getting caught in or damaging metal brackets and wires. However, it is recommended that you wear the trays for at least 22 hours a day, meaning they should only be taken out when eating, brushing your teeth, or drinking anything but water. It is important to practice proper oral hygiene, brushing and flossing at least twice daily.

The process is simple. We take a digital scan of your current teeth and use the Invisalign software to create a model that will help shape your aligners. Each aligner is designed to be worn for approximately two weeks, and then replaced with a new one. Because you receive all your trays at the beginning of treatment, you will only need to visit us about every six weeks or so. Traditional braces require you to come in every four weeks. You may find some discomfort with each new tray, but all reports indicate that they are much more comfortable than traditional braces. You will not have metal wires and brackets poking you in the cheek. If you play any contact sports, Invisalign is highly recommended. Invisalign can help you achieve your best smile while allowing you to maintain your current lifestyle.
With Invisalign, the aligner trays are not only smooth and comfortable to wear, but they’re also removable. That means you can continue doing all the things you normally would, from brushing and flossing, to eating whatever you like. With other devices, brushing and flossing properly can often take up to 30 minutes!
